The Alpines
Bri McCall & Danny Patiño
Rock duo from Salt Lake City with a full-band live sound

The Alpines are a Salt Lake City–based rock duo made up of Bri McCall and Danny Patiño. Their music leans on guitars and digital drums, evolving from the folk roots of their debut album, Heading North, into something leaner, darker, and more rhythmic on their follow-up, Dying Star.
Live, the dynamic between them is immediate. Bri doesn’t perform to be “pretty” — she performs to get the story out, pulling the emotion into the room whether it’s comfortable or not. Danny’s guitar work is precise and deliberate, built around tone, reverb, and carefully shaped effects that give the songs their structure and weight. Together, they operate in the lineage of minimalist rock duos who understand restraint as a form of power, often drawing comparisons to the raw, drum-machine-driven force of bands like The Kills.
That approach has carried The Alpines through a steady run of performances across the Mountain West, including large-scale regional events and arts festivals such as Snowbird Oktoberfest, Utah Arts Festival, and Umpqua Arts Festival, along with city-supported programming throughout the region. Along the way, they’ve been featured on Salt Lake City Weekly’s “IT” List, covered by SLUG Magazine, and highlighted by local news outlets for their live shows and growing presence in the Utah scene.
At a show, the focus is simple: original songs played with intention, in a set that builds and holds attention. It isn’t background music. People watch, people move, and people stay until the end.
